About The Brief Lives of John Aubrey & Other Clever British Gentlemen (and Ladies Too!)

I have been fascinated by John Aubrey’s Brief Lives for years. I decided to finally do something about it and start a digital comic made with material freely available in various online digital libraries.

I have based the initial stages of this work on Richard Barber’s Folio Society edition of Brief Lives (1975). That edition contains only biographies and portraits of men (hence the main title of this project), but there will be ladies in the story too.
